Academic Emergency Medicine Education

_While our course through the realm of medical education may be designed in a linear fashion (medical school to residency to practice), the process of learning is a circular one. As we learn more, we teach.  We teach ourselves, colleagues, nurses, students and, certainly, we teach patients.  By doing so, we learn more ourselves.  Whether or not you consider yourself an "academician" or not, we are all scholars when it comes to the realm of Emergency Medicine and Acute Care.

Fortunately, the Emergency Department is THE BEST locale for the continual process of learning; however, the busy Emergency Department, with its constant stream of distractions and potential disasters, is an exceedingly difficult place to teach.

This site is designed for the busy Emergency Medicine Practitioner who is who knows that mere competency is not sufficient and that the path to MASTERY requires dedication to the process of learning and teaching. Through a collaborative process, we have access to cutting edge materials from the brilliant minds of Emergency Medicine and Medical Education with the aim to enhance the educational process for you.

New content will be crafted to be concise and succinct, yet thorough.  The format designed to assist with these materials being not only useful for learning / relearning material, but also for reference while working clinically.

I encourage you to contact me with any questions, comments, or other input.

About Us

We are emergency medicine physicians who enjoy educating anyone who is standing close enough to us to listen.  We have been had the great fortune of learning from the Masters of emergency medicine and wish to continue that benevolent endeavor by passing on their lessons.  In some instances, the words may be ours, but the notions being are directly from the pioneers of emergency medicine.
