Skin Tear
An 80-year-old woman fell from her toilet to the bathroom floor.  She has no complaint, other than the wound you see below:

While you evaluate her for potential concomitant injuries and reasons for the fall, the family asks what you plan to do with her arm.  Which of the following is the BEST wound management technique in her case?

A.     Antibiotic ointment BID with wound check follow-up in 2 days
B.     5-0 non-absorbable simple intermittent sutures
C.     5-0 absorbable (non-rapid) simple intermittent sutures
D.    Cyanoacrylate tissue adhesive
E.     Surgical tape
