A 35 year-old man was preparing to catch a basketball when the ball hit his left index finger.  He arrives to the ED complaining of pain and swelling:











Which is the best course of management of this condition?

A. Call Orthopedics immediately for an unstable fracture of his left index finger
B. Relocate this dislocation
C. Splint, transfer patient to tertiary medical center with hand specialist on call
D. Draw ESR, CRP, Rheumatoid factor for possible collagen vascular disease
E. Soak in warm water to help muscles relax then reexamine
